I am a Certified Nutrition Specialist®, credentialed by the American Nutrition Association® through its Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists™.

Appetites for Life was born out of my drive to share knowledge and inspiration that would help women decode the messages of our bodies and identify the root causes of imbalance, so that together we can cultivate a path to healing and step into whom we are created to be.

I am a Board Certified Clinical Nutritionist specializing in holistic, integrative & functional nutrition.

Appetites for Life was born out of my drive to share knowledge and inspiration that would help women decode the messages of our bodies and identify the root causes of imbalance, so that together we can cultivate a path to healing and step into whom we are created to be.

Feeling sick, tired, and helpless throughout much of my twenties & early thirties, I spent countless time and resources looking for answers, to finally discover that true health and healing began with self-awareness.

Our bodies are constantly speaking to us through symptoms, cravings, and “dis-ease,” but in this world of competing priorities, confusing health-related messages, and conflicting sciences, we don’t always know how to make sense of what our bodies need.
When we get clear on the root cause of the imbalance, have the proper tools to listen to our bodies, and align ourselves with nature and God as the ultimate Curegiver, we can begin to feel whole and in balance.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition
& health because everybody is unique.

So, for each client, I spend the time needed to deeply understand their personal health and lifestyle challenges and needs, and then create a customized protocol using traditional, holistic, and evidence-based practices to guide them. I meet you where you are, without judgement, but with compassion and hope.

THESE ARE the results I want for every client: for good physical health to spill over into every area of your life, so you can fully step into your purpose.

Through what I learned and by changing my food habits, I became more confident at work, which allowed me to not hide anymore and get more involved and noticed. Before, I was constantly in a pattern of confusion, guilt and shame and being able to break free from that spilled over into so many other areas.  I get it now that food is much more than what you put on your plate.”

“We had never tried the services of a nutritionist before, and Caryn was really great for us. She took into account where we were at, health wise, and what our goals were, and really gave us a program to help us attain those goals. My wife is pre-diabetic and has long Covid and she really was helpful in addressing those issues, both through foods and supplements. She was always very encouraging in a pragmatic, useful way.”

“Today’s the day when I can honestly and proudly state that I no longer add sugar to my Earl Grey tea!! This is 100% due to Caryn’s coaching and patience. I have ”needed” sugar in my tea for 40+ years. I’m pre-diabetic, so I had to smarten up and gradually lower my sugar intake. Thank you, Caryn! You are a lifesaver! You taught me that I must do what is right versus what I want to do, which isn’t always the best decision when it comes to healthy living.”

My Manifesto:

  • I Believe that food is medicine, and we have the ability to tap into that power and create health.

  • I Believe that our bodies are synchronized with the seasons and that we are most balanced when we align our energy and diet with nature.

  • I Believe the body is a temple of the soul and it is our responsibility to care for it to the best of our ability.

  • I Believe that each of us has a purpose and that we must be our healthiest to fulfill that purpose.

  • I Believe that what we put on our plate has an impact environmentally, politically, socially, and personally, and that we can begin to make change by voting with our fork.

  • I Believe that when we nourish our relationships with God, nature and others, we are better able to feel whole and in balance.
